24 Weeks Pregnant

This week baby is continuing to grow steadily, having gained about 4 ounces in the past week. She is about 1 1/3 pounds and a foot long - about the length of an ear of corn. She may be long and lean now, but she will soon begin to plump up (yes! I love chubby babies!). Other exciting developments this week include: rapid brain development, maturing of the taste buds and the of the lungs.

Growth: This week my belly is measuring 40 inches around (that's 1 1/2 inches up from last week!) and my total weight gain is 2 lbs. I feel like all that weight went to my face.

Movement: Baby girl must be going through a growth spurt. She's been moving, but it's been really "slow" and "sleepy" movement. You can tell she's doing a lot of sleeping. Normally, when she goes through a phase like that, I wake up a few days later with a bigger belly. Then she'll go through a karate phase!

New Symptoms: (TMI) WAY more frequent urination. Like, every 20 minutes. Sometimes less. I am drinking a lot more water though! I'm starting to have a hard time tying my work shoes (time for slip-ons!), bending over, wearing a scanner belt and climbing the stairs at work. I'm not complaining yet! I'll work myself into labor :)

Cravings: I've been eating like a teenage boy. Mostly cereal and Star Crunch. Have you not had a Star Crunch? Go get one! Now!
