“Your feet are
swelling, belly’s bumping, clothes are stretching, nose is spreading…
...you are SO Pregnant right now!”
...you are SO Pregnant right now!”
Some women get to a point in their
pregnancy where they develop “Get This Baby Out” Syndrome. It starts gradually
with spurts of anxiety to finally meet precious baby – to hold, cuddle and
nurture, occasionally accompanied by brief imagining of what baby will look
like. Tiny kicks and prods from baby are precious, but soon they become painful
jabs that make ribs and muscles scream. Mom-to-be feels so fat, so tired, SO
PREGNANT! Have you ever seen a big pregnant lady walking laps around the
mall while sipping on red raspberry leaf tea? Yep. She’s got it bad. She’s in
the final stage of GTBOS: the Eviction. Women try everything to jump-start
labor and get the baby out. They bounce on balls, eat spicy food, down castor
oil! In short, they lose their minds.
I lose my mind.
Yes. I admit it. I suffer from GTBOS.
It varies for all pregnant women, but I get it bad. And early. I wish I could be one of those women that breezes patiently through her pregnancy, but I guess I’m just not made of sunshine and rainbows. I’m working on it! This is my third pregnancy and I couldn’t be more excited. (No really, I’m REALLY excited! I’m having a girl!). I have two handsome boys (3 including my husband) that light up my life! We are all so ecstatic to be soon welcoming a baby girl to our family. How can we not get a little anxious?
I created this blog to help me, and hopefully some fellow pregnant mamas’ get through the long haul of pregnancy. It’s my hope that this will be something I/we can look forward to weekly, to help pass the time and think about something other than our stretch marks.
I should mention that pregnancy isn’t all bad! It’s a wonderful, incredible, beautiful thing! It is a huge blessing! I am so truly blessed! This is me making an effort to have a positive attitude and ENJOY this time. Feel free to enjoy with me! J
